So, we are partied out at the moment. On Thursday I went to a party to celebrate the 7th day after the birth of a baby. At these parties the family announces the name and slaughters a sheep and has a big party. And then on Friday I went to henna party. These happen the day before the wedding. On Saturday we both went to the wedding. On Sunday Cody went to a friends house and when he arrived he found out it was an engagement party for his friend's sister!
He we are getting ready to leave for the wedding. This belt is making its last appearance. If I have to go to another party I will have to find another belt or way to tie back my gown. It was pushing down on my little bump all night long and super uncomfortable. Perhaps I can add a silver sash or something because you have to wear a belt with these things.
The girls got to eat first. The wedding was in a tent and there were two rooms inside the house where they rotated people into to eat. This is lemon chicken and olive tagine. Delicious!
But this dish was my favorite. I haven't had this one in so long. It's little noodles with cinnamon, peanuts and powdered sugar. I LOVE it! Cody finally got to eat at 12:30 in the morning with the men.
The bride finally showed up at 1:30! We only saw her change into two outfits and then had to leave because Cody was leading worship the next morning at 9:30. The men were to the side and the ladies filled up this part. Right now they are fixing to present the bride and dance. See the video below to watch them hoisting her in the air and dance around.
Here is my caftan for the henna party. It is so much more comfortable than the taksheta . This one doesn't require a belt and it's only one layer as opposed to two.
This is the dowry the groom presents to the bride.
After working diligently on the bride's henna she starts to do the guests. It's not very intricate because she has so many people to do.
Before the party starts the band and guests sing and dance in the street and then carry the gifts upstairs to present to the bride.
The bride on her throne. Green is the color of Islam that's why they always wear green at this party.BabyG Update:
-BG is the size of lime and and is a completely formed fetus, just miniature version.
-The placenta should be taking over this week or next to give the nourishment and stuff
-I had a check up on Friday and everything was measuring normal.
-We are going to America in May for my brother's wedding and get to have an ultrasound right before we go to see if we can distinguish the gender. I really hope so b/c it would be exciting to be able to tell my whole fam!
-Be sure to take a guess at the gender in the poll on the right hand side. What's your gut feeling, boy or girl?!
-My body is exhausted from all the parties and I haven't been feeling so good the last couple of days. I can't wait to start the second trimester...I hear it's magical and you no longer feel like pooh :)

Fabulous party clothes. How fun!
So . . .were we supposed to be looking for a baby belly in that gigantic red shirt/dress? You could have a two year old rolled up in there! Let's see a real belly bump picture!

Ooooh, perhaps I mis-read? You mean you haven't posted the gut shot . . .it's still coming up later.
Sorry, I get it now.

I love all your outfits and sounds so fun all the parties! So next trimester should be magical huh? Don't know if I've heard it called that before but I guess it would be magical if it made you feel better than you do now. :) Take care you, call me when you're through. :)
