Catching Up
Ok, here's a look at Sept and Oct that I haven't yet posted. Only up to Halloween b/c I haven't yet downloaded all those pics. First we start with Balloon Fiesta 2010. This is one of my favorite times of the year. Every morning Nellie and I would watch the balloons from our house or go to the park. One of mornings we went to a friend's house and one of the mornings we went to the balloon field for take off. We were suppose go to the evening balloon glow but the day before we got the call to go pick up Julien so we missed it. What better reason to miss balloon glow!
I realize you can't actually see the balloons in these few pics but I sure think Nellie looks cute in them.
Left the house at 5:15 a.m. to make it to mass ascension.
Crazy thing is our Julien was already born on this day we just didn't know yet he belonged in this family pic!
Sweet random photo of our little man :)
This is back in September and Nel is wearing Uncle Jason's awesome band shirt.
Allow me to introduce you to Jeffy, Nellie and Julien's new uncle! This Ali's husband and they live in Killeen, TX because Jeff is in the Army and stationed at Ft. Hood.
Nellie's big girl room!

Look at those cheeks!!

This is in Clovis and Nellie refused to nap this day so I took her out of her room and she was playing outside swinging and crashed out and Janny laid her here where she napped.
Little elephant I hung from J's ceiling with the round lanterns.
Okay, moving on to Nellie's 2nd birthday. Both sides of the fam came into town to celebrate and meet Julien.
These are balloon flowers that Uncle Jason made. He has mad skills at making balloon animals. Who knew!?
Her birthday outfit. The shirts says "I'm 2" (click to enlarge)
Butterfly cake made by Aunt Sarah and Lala (lauren)
"bugcakes"
Family pic!
Enjoying a nice birthday dinner crammed around the table :)

Nel was way more into her cake this year.
YAY, I'm twoooo!
Julien was thoroughly enjoying the festivities.
Awww, great pic taken by Janny.
We did a little photo shoot with Janny the next day. Sweet little lips!

Nel got all these footed pj's for winter and I love how she looks in them! She feels so tall after putting on Julien's little footed pj's. At her 2 year check-up she was 24 lbs and %20 for weight and %50 for height. But she feels like a giant to me!
Look how high that boy can lift his head! he rolled himself over from this position!
Nellie on her actual birthday.
Playing with friends at the park. FIVE 2 year olds=impossible to get a pic. This is the best we could do :)

Trying to a get a pic with her brother on her birthday. ALL screaming. And I tried to get a pic in her birthday shirt but she was throwing a fit the whole time...ugh. The good news is she is showing more interest in Julien and being much nicer. She likes to "hug" him which involves laying flat out turtle style on top of him. And she asks to "hold Julien" and is always asking where he is when she wakes up. It really concerns her when Julien's crying and she always asks "what's the matter Julien?"So there's the latest up to Halloween. Wait until you see my lil duck and baby skeleton...sooo cute! see ya soon!

"Transition"
Sorry for the super long lag in my blogging. Who would have thought living in a hotel with a newborn was much easier than living at home with two kids? We are getting back into the swing of things after taking three days just to unpack our bags. We had to get our lives in order b/c both of our families are coming in town tomorrow to celebrate Nel's 2nd birthday and meet Julien.
On our last day in AL we went to the botanical gardens. Our 11:00 a.m. flight had to be pushed to the 5:30 p.m. flight because our ICPC hadn't cleared yet. The flight home was exhausting but Julien did so great!
We finally got home around 11:00 p.m. and my parents got to meet Julien. They watched Nellie while we're gone all week and cleaned up our house and stocked our pantry...woo hoo!
In the morning we brought Nellie out to meet Julien but it's on film so I don't have any pics. But here's the first thing she does...sits in his bouncer and plays with it.
It was a rough couple of days getting use to the whole brother thing for her. I asked her to hold his bottle and she let go and started screaming.
Here's a little look into our life right now. A mess!
"Proud" big sister.
Here is Julien's and I's first date. We went to a bridal shower for a friend.
So Nellie is obsessed with her duck costume for halloween and never wants to take it off, if I let her put it on. Here's cody reading to Nel in her duck costume on the couch with J crashed out.
sweet handsome boy.
Julien's first day to go to our church.
Here's my attempt to get a pic of the kids together. i put J in nellie's arms and she pulled it out and he fell back.
At least she gave him a kiss!
This is what we had to resort to.
She loves to give Julien his pacifier and feels so proud when he takes it. AND she likes to use a paci now too. ugh...
Another attempt at a pic of both of them.
Look how huge she looks! I feel like I came home to kindergartner after spending the week with my newborn. Her hands and feet and diaper are enormous!
And here's a pic of Julien today. We had his two week check up this week and he has thrush and a congenital breathing problem that causes him to gasp and breath loudly at times. It's b/c his trachea and esophagus thing didn't develop all the way and it's flappy causing him to have trouble breathing. The doc says as long as it doesn't get too bad we won't have to go to a specialist and it should clear up on his own in the first two years as his stuff matures and gets harder cartilage. Confusing, I know. It's hard for me to explain cause I don't fully understand it. Anyway we have spent the last few days adjusting to being a family of four and trying to figure out Julien and how to handle Nellie. More pics to come!
