No, not THAT time of the month...blog post time! I guess I am pretty proud of myself if I get around to posting once a month. My motivation to keep posting is that it makes me download and organize the photos off my camera, which for some reason I procrastinate doing. So tax season is in full swing which means long hours for Cody and LOTS of time with just me and Nellie. I try to keep us busy with playdates, Women's Bible Study, library readings, and frequent shopping trips. She is still napping twice a day which means our going out time has to fall in the middle of those naps.
What up peeps? I thinks she looks a little gangsta, but cute and sweet gangsta...ya know?
A new project. The paints weren't as "washable" as I hoped. And after painting her legs and floor I decided to toss the paints and try a new kind. Stupid $1 bin paints from Target! It was starting to stain the floor but the Magic Eraser got it off. Do you mom's use those things? They are miracle workers for crayon and paint on tile.
Nellie has all of the sudden started talking up a storm. At her 15 month check up three weeks all she said was "ball." Now she knows like 10 words (see video below) including two syllable words like "picture" and "purple" (which sounds very similiar to poo poo, only a mother's ear can tell the difference). Her best word is "book" b/c she really accentuates the "k." But "baby" is really cute because she says it so soft and sweet, "bebe." When she sees any baby or a picture of herself or a teddy bear she says baby. She sleeps with two teddy bears now and when I go into her room after she wakes up she either says "HI" or "baby" and hands me her bears before she gets out. At her 15 months she was 20 pounds 6 ounces and in the 15% for weight and 50% for height. She had strep a couple of weeks ago but finished her antibiotics and is better now. Her fever got up to 104, poor girl. (Cody got it from her too)
Nellie loves to wear my shoes. Boots and flats. She also loves to use my make up brushes and sponges to pretend to put on make up while I am getting ready. (She sits in the sink next to me). And now every time I say "oh, so pretty" she pretends to brush her hair. What I am doing to my one year old!?
I caught Nellie in the act of being naughty. She isn't allowed to "touch" the printer so she uses her foot instead. Because somehow the foot is not touching, only the hand. In fact, the other day she was doing that with the lamp and I said "don't touch it with your foot either." And she LICKED it with her tongue! Seriously?!!

She's so punk rock.
Hugs please!!!!
Here is Nellie playing with her friend Maggie. They are only one month apart. But sweet little Maggie was a preemie so she is tiny!
Sometimes Nellie and I will sit on the kitchen floor and eat a snack and play. We have a carpeted dining room so this keeps things simple.
Kisses from mama! Nellie gives the sweetest kisses. Occasionally I don't even have to ask she volunteers them. Those are the best!
So Nellie has enough hair for a little ponytail on the side. I decided to not cut bangs and just let it all grow out. If the sides don't grow fast enough I will the cut the back so she doesn't have a bad baby mullet. Right now the sides are starting to grow so we'll see.
Here's her "Valentine's outfit" for her Wednesday morning class while I am in Bible study.
Nellie still likes to squeeze herself into this drum. She is so strange. She's loves small spaces. Her new thing is the Pampers box. She loves to take toys and sit in the Pampers box or between the couch and printer as seen above.
A side view.
Here you can see the little ponytail.
But later I added a hat. I still prefer hats and headbands for now. Maybe when her hair gets a little longer and I can do pigtails and stuff it will be cuter.
Lately I have been using her 9 month dresses as shirts and pairing them with jeans. I am getting excited about summer clothes. I want to get her some little flip flops that have a strap on the back and some little gladiator sandals. Dressing a girl is just too much fun.
We went to the zoo and my camera died after taking the first picture. But here is the picture I got. It was raining a little and cold so we put her cover on and everybody was staring and commenting about it. Is this so strange people!!??
Emptying out her cabinet and sitting in a very small place. She could seriously do this for hours.
TA DAH!!! A sneak preview at Nellie's swimsuit this summer. I saw this online at Baby Gap and I went to the store the next day to get it. I wanted to do a shirt again this summer so her shoulders don't get burned and I just loved this one.
The little ruffle bottoms are so adorable. And I had to get the matching fish hat. It's reversible so she can wear it as plain white too.
Looks likes she's modeling her suit with her leg all out in front. Woo hoo!!

o my word how precious she is! And thanks for mentioning antibiotics - we would have forgotten Mikayla's AGAIN. :)
She is such a cutie! It looks like you guys have so much fun! I love how clever she is - using her tongue after the hand & foot were off limits!! And yes, dressing a girl is suuuuper fun and summer clothes are just so cute - I cannot wait!
i think she likes all those tight spaces because you are/were still squeezing her in your sling at 12/13/14 months!!!
LOVED the update!
